A Vintage Spanish Style Wedding Inspiration

Monday, July 25, 2011
OK I am on a roll again and this is thanks to one of my brides booked for next August whom, it is emerging, is hugely creative and has got my brain ticking!

Sarah sent me her Save the Dates today and they are to die for :) I won´t publish them until she lets me, but honestly they really are fabulous, with a wonderful vintage spanish theme.

If I said vintage and postcards were out yesterday, Sarah has changed my mind :)!

With this wedding now in my thought process, I have been scouring the internet and have found this fantastic Spanish themed photoshoot on Green Wedding Shoes.

I just love all the details, the only thing I am not sure about is the succulents on the tables, they are different but perhaps not weddingy enough for me, given it is a Cinco de Mayo, Mexican style shoot though I can see the logic and the style behind it, but have fallen head over heels with the Dulce bags (next candy bar in mind now!), the papel picado flags and bunting that we have yet to use at a wedding here surprisingly, along with the Margarita cupcakes (Fi and Mark I hope you are reading this!) Unfortunately for me, I am completely allergic to anything tequila based, something I learnt many years ago twice!

You must head over to Green Wedding Shoes to see the talents behind this fantastic inspiration.

Ice Pops and Cake Shooters!

Sunday, July 24, 2011
Sometimes it is difficult to think outside the box and create new ideas for weddings and parties.

To be perfectly honest I have not had much time over the past few months to do much scanning of latest trends and new, fun novel ideas. Many of the blog posts I have seen are now too samey, albeit pretty just churning over the same fashions over and over again, a big kick is now needed in wedding world to get out of this rut of vintage suitcases, postcards and typewriters!

I personally think Retro is the way forward :)

Having witnessed the seventies revival in fashion with the maxi dresses plus large floppy hats seem to be a big hit this year on the beach as well, let´s bring back the seventies goodies we used to enjoy! I was thinking today that ice pops now would be a big hit at weddings, given we are now spending everyday (sorry!) in plus 30 degrees. Obviously more sophisticated grown up versions could be created and whilst googling this idea I came across this cool idea of Cake Shooters at Sprinkles. What a brilliant idea and the next step up from a cupcake perhaps?!

What do you think? Having googled this idea it appears they are not easy to make and I have seen some disasters, but get this right and it would be really fun for a wedding!

A Stunning Peacock Themed Wedding at Finca de la Concepcion, Marbella

Tuesday, July 5, 2011

I am not sure where to start with this stunning Peacock theme wedding we created here at the Finca de la Concepcion.

We were working with such a fantastic couple and we had so many fabulous details incorporated into this wedding it has taken me two days since Jeremy sent me these gorgeous images, of delighted oohs and aahs as I decided what photos to blog and share with you. I do like to portray the day as it unfolds so I hope I have done this here for you and can share all the fabulousness with you! You must head over though as well so see the fantastic slideshow Jeremy has put together as well.

After months of planning and lots of work, sometimes we feel like the couple themselves where the day has whizzed by and we have not enjoyed seeing all the details as we have been so busy setting everything up and quite often very hot, so it is wonderful for us to receive the images of our weddings to see all our hard work and efforts in action.

I would love to describe all the wonderful ideas we put together in the hope you will see it is the attention to details that truly pull a delightful wedding together, we created everything to coordinate with Jen´s Peacock theme from the peacock confetti cones, brilliantly created by Anoulka, to the stationery, table seating plans, our fans were decorated with coordinating ribbons and peacock themed tags as were the napkins.

If you are currently looking for your wedding stationery you must check out our hugely talented Anoulka´s website which was born out of creating stationery, table seating plans, etc for our weddings. Anoulka is beyond fantastic and if you are looking for something very different you must head over to her website for any stationery requirements.

The bridal flowers were created with green cymbidium orchids, purple alliums and peacock feathers and finished with the beautiful turquoise ribbons that matched the bridesmaids dresses to a tee.

Green hydrangeas were used in the centrepieces along with purple orchids and more peacock feathers just enough to add an accent and we created our lovely themed candy bar to coordinate with the wedding, as much as you can with marshmallows! But we had turquoie chocolate hearts and our themed and personalised candy bags.

We decorated this stunning venue with a lovely chillout area and dressed the tables and chairs with our turquoise linens and sashes, added in our famous lanterns and candles for the late night twinkling and the end result was stunning.

Our hugest big hugs to Jeremy as always for understanding me and the fact I love my work and glorify in seeing it all come to life afterwards, it makes my day ;)

My big thanks also to Heather at Fiestasol and her team that are just fantastic, time and time again with their fabulous catering team and have to say die for food! Heather for her trust in me as well when the tough gets going!

Last but not least my wonderful friend Fi and her gorgeous cakes, do I sound like the Oscars!

A fantastic wedding run by a very professional team and we are delighted to share this to you.

A Beautiful Wedding and Candy at Cortijo Bravo Hotel, Velez Malaga

Friday, June 24, 2011

As our weddings started to get well and truly underway in May, we were very excited about decorating Michelle and Andrew´s wedding at the Cortijo Bravo Hotel in Velez Malaga. It is a beautiful venue and a fairly new one for us to decorate which is always exciting as we like a challenge so we did head off earlier this year to take a good look around this hotel to see what we would create for our weddings booked here this year.

Michelle and Andrew´s wedding started with a beautiful church ceremony in Nerja and then back to the Cortijo for a wonderful night of festivities and entertainments organised by Moira at Perfect Spanish Weddings.

The venue do supply some flowers so we woofed (I love this word!) everything up by supplying glassware which we filled with water, pink crystals and floating candles and then added in the pink roses we had ordered from the hotel, we also bought our mirrors and finished the centrepieces off with tealights and scattered the tables with crystals.

Peonies are delightful at this time of year and perfect for huge fluffy balls of loveliness, we created Michelle´s bouquet with ivory peonies and the bridesmaids in a fabulous combination of pink. They were delightful and huge! We were not allowed to decorate the pew ends at the church with our bows, which was disappointing but soon made use of them back at the venue by using them on the orange trees on the terrace so all was not lost!

Our highlight was the Candy Bar, there was a big clap all round from us and the staff, at the hotel, when we switched the fairy lights on, I think they were wondering what we were up to and it looked fabulous. Anoulka had done a fabulous job creating all the candy bar signs and Jeremy and Rob did get a look in later in the night when no one was watching!

We love the photos of the terrace that we decorated with lanterns, fairy lights and candles. It was a gorgeous wedding and lots of fun was had with the photo booth supplied by Jeremy, a gorgeous wedding cake from Fi, and dancing all night with fantastic music, lights and sounds from Rob the DJ. The A team were out in full force and here is our lovely email from Michelle and Andrew that was posted on our Facebook page

Hi Laura, sorry it has taken so long but I just had to thank you for helping me create my dream wedding. Your attention to detail goes way beyond what I had even imagined and it was only when I looked back at Jeremy´s photos I could see the extent that you and your team went to. Thoroughly breathtaking. The flowers were amazing and just what we discussed and of course all my guests are still talking about the sweet table (can I add they lasted the whole week we were here in Spain) such a treat. You were like my fairy godmother that waved her magic wand and made all my dreams come true, once again thank you so much, Michelle and Andrew xxx

Our thanks to Jeremy again for sending me these photos so we can share these fabulous photos of our work with you
