Spiked Apple Cider
OK, this is not really a "WINE a bit...Wednesday". How about instead we call it a... "Wet your Whistle Wednesday"? Actually, that is kinda cute...let's go with that.
So, for a wedding I had a few weekends ago, I tried at least 30 different recipes for a warm spiked apple cider to be displayed and butlered as guests arrived on the fall day. This is the one that won. Not only is it tasty, but it was the most simple. It is delicious and sure to give your holiday parties a kick!
Ingredients
1 Gallon of Cider
Tbsp. Ground Cinnamon
Tsp. Ground Nutmeg
Dozen Whole Cloves
Pinch of Ginger
1/4 C. of Brown Sugar, or less to taste
Orange Slices
Tbsp. Ground Cinnamon
Tsp. Ground Nutmeg
Dozen Whole Cloves
Pinch of Ginger
1/4 C. of Brown Sugar, or less to taste
Orange Slices
1 cup dark rum (or spiced for a kick!)
Combine all ingredients except cider in a pot or crock pot. After this mix is heated for about 20-25 minutes, add the cider! Garnish with cinnamon sticks and serve in mason jars for an even cuter treat!
Happy Thanksgiving!
