Earlier this year we were contacted by a charming couple who were organising their wedding here at the Zagaleta Casa Club and we were delighted to be hired not only to decorate the wedding with this fabulous zesty lemon theme but also as their planners and coordinators for their day here.
As they live in Dubai they felt they needed someone on the ground here that they could work easily with and that they could trust.
We have not shown actual people here as it was a private family wedding but we are delighted to share some of the fabulous details of this wedding to share and inspire you if you are planning a lemon themed wedding.
The bride is a designer and created some delightful designs for the stationery which really made this wedding fun, from the pretty confetti bags and Order of Service to the rather novel wedding colouring books which I thought were a fabulous idea!
The favours were all lemon themed with lemon sherbets for the girls and lemoncello in cute bottles for the men. There were a lot of ideas bounced around and the final details that went into this wedding were created by our bride and her sister.
Our piece de resistance at this wedding was our coconut shy which was organised as a surprise for the groom! I loved creating this, we had the stands made earlier this year by a local ironmonger and as the wedding was a zesty lemon, blues and a soft grey theme I created a grey striped backdrop and decided to use haystacks to create an area to give it more form and create that country fairground feel to it.
Behind it we hung our bare lightbulbs to give even more of a fairground feel and I think the final result was very pretty. Anoulka, my design assistant extraordinaire even tied lemon and grey ribbons to the coconut posts which finished it off beautifully.
There were certainly no coconuts left the next day or any wooden balls, so can assume a good time was had by all and we do laugh as apparently the local stags and deer had eaten two of the haystacks within 3 days, so I could not return them to the hirers?! At least we have happy animals unless they were the ones that ate the wooden balls!
The rest of the decor was kept simple as it is such a stunning setting so along with the lemon and ivory bridal bouquets we created table centrepieces using lots of candles in glassware to give more light, zingy yellow florals along with fresh lemons.
Fi created this gorgeous wedding cake, also inspired by our bride and the final result was a stylish and fun day in a glorious setting with perfect Spanish weather.
Our thanks to Anna Gazda for sharing these gorgeous photos with us.
