Well what can I say about this fabulous wedding in Sotogrande, getting married under the trees and dancing under the stars, it was a truly perfect wedding in a fantastic setting that does not lock you up at midnight and make you put on your Cinderella shoes :)!
I can now see why many wedding planners do a series of blog posts to cover some weddings as there are so many fabulous photos we want to share with you of many delightful details we created for this wedding.
Lara was one of my dream brides this year, being a fashion buyer, she had many ideas to work on with me and knew exactly how she envisaged her wedding day and I do love this as the determination that goes into making sure I understand and that everything is perfect is wonderful to work with as it is lovely to see someone gain trust in you, well I am sure there were times when Lara was biting her nails when I got busy in the summer :)!
Where do we start, it was interesting as apart from the bridal bouquet, in gorgeous sahara roses, there were not many flowers, a few small vintage style silver mercury containers for the tables and of course the bridal bouquet but the fun really was in the other decoration details. I loved the fact the bridesmaids were not matchy matchy and in different vintage style outfits.
The tables were long tables and were already going to be busy with a selection of tapas plates being set out and an Argentinian BBQ night, so we were limited as to what we could place on the tables due to the amount of food being served up on platters so we just created very small floral arrangements in our vintage style silver mercury votives to adorn the tables along with our gorgeous vintage lace tables runners alternated with our burlap runners. It was a simple but beautiful decoration that worked well.
However, I will start with the ceremony area where we set up a lemonade bar to welcome the guests using our gorgeous lemonade dispensers, retro glasses and grey and white paper straws.
The ceremony was set under a beautiful, natural walkway through the trees next to the polo fields in Sotogrande and we decorated this with extra large balloons in white, ivory and blush with silver tassels. We used simple white wooden folding chairs for the ceremony area to complete the rustic feel.
The ceremony table was decorated with an olive vintage lace runner and a beautiful candle ceremony set including arras coins.
The ceremony was beautiful and I was touched to see the photos of a very emotional Ronan waiting for his bride to arrive, truly wonderful, however I feel it is too private a moment to share with you on here, but the photos bought tears to my eyes.
A rustic wooden wedding sign directed the guests across the bridge to enter a wonderful rustic yet elegant setting in the main reception area which was a wonderful venue to decorate.
We ordered the pom poms for the ceiling decoration from BHLDN, an online shop that is simply beautiful. I have to admit hanging these pom poms perched on a 10 metre ladder was not my idea of fun at my age but I continue to defy age and odds, albeit not looking hugely glamorous!
It was very hot and of course I come down a ladder only to be introduced to people that have been waiting to meet me for ages, not good timing! I could not move when I got home! But I do keep smiling :)
Lara, being hugely talented, made up metres of gorgeous lace bunting which we decorated the ceiling and all the railings around the outside of the venue with.
The lace bunting along with the fairy lights looked very romantic and pretty.
I think our piece de resistance at this wedding was everything to be honest, it was just fun and lovely!
We even created a wonderful man area ;)
A cigar bar for Ronan complete with a cigar menu on a masculine vintage style mirror, a freestanding hat stand to hang their jackets, spare Frank Sinatra style hats just in case they wanted to get into the mood, camping style lanterns and we used plenty of vintage styling including cigar cutters in an old wooden keepsake box. Apparently this went down a storm!
Lara and Ronan concentrated on all these wonderful details which were such fun for us to do and hosting their wedding in this fabulous venue meant being able to keep the dancing outside was perfect and I have to say Carla did an amazing job organising everything but in particular the band, dance floor and lighting, it was perfection and such an amazing party.
It continued the next day on the beach so I will do a second blog post! :)
Our thanks to all the wonderful suppliers that helped us plan, organise and decorate this wedding. They shall be named when I get the final list but a big thank you to Andreas Holm for allowing me to share these fabulous images with you and our congratulations and thanks to Ronan and Lara, a wonderful couple whom we were able to share such a beautiful day with and make their special day come true.
