50 Shades of Pink Charity Fundraising Night for Positively Pink

Recently we were approached and asked if we would like to decorate and support Costa Women´s 50 Shades of Pink Charity Fundraising Night in aid of Positively Pink.

Positively Pink is a charity based on the Costa Del Sol raising money for the improvement and enhancement of medical treatment and provides a FREE screening programme for British Women living within the Malaga Province.  

Costa Women are a social and business networking community for women living, working and dreaming Spain.  They are amazingly fun and well worth joining if you wish to find out more about likewise fabulous women living and working in Spain.

Well what can I say apart from I was so pleased I said yes!

I have met and networked with an entertaining, lively and fun group of girls, we all worked very hard and had many laughs whilst planning this event and the whole experience has been fantastic.

I was thrilled to be voted the Favourite Sponsor of this event but it was probably only because of me bribing everyone to like me in exchange for chocolate that we won, but who can resist an offer like that?!   Moi competitive? Of course not!

So off we trotted in the morning with our twinkling lights, sparkly paper flowers, gorgeous pink tassel garlands, cake stands, funfetti, pink throws, bows - you name it, we took it and waved our magic wand over this event and we were thrilled with the final result.

It was a hugely successful evening supported by many fantastic sponsors, I was amazed at the generosity and support offered by so many of Marbella´s businesses.

All the guests looked fabulous and dazzled in many shades of pink!

There were lots of lovely surprises too ranging from naked men, a wonderful cocktail competition, fashion shows, cupcakes from Fi (which I managed of course to steal), mini champagnes (which I did not manage to steal!) and some wonderful sponsors selling sparkly things and donating proceeds to Positively Pink.

I managed to bribe Rob, one of our fab wedding DJ´s to come along and get the girls dancing and he even wore pink, brave man indeed!

The PR and marketing team behind this were brilliant, creating websites, organising printed banners, leaflets, cocktail competition cards, Facebook page, in fact the list is endless.

 All the hard work and effort everyone put into making this event a success was phenomenal and all the organisers, sponsors and suppliers can be found on the Costa Women´s 50 Shades of Pink Event Facebook page.

We are thrilled to hear over 1000 euros was raised just in this one evening.

Private Villas for Weddings in Spain, Quinta Las Colinas

Earlier this year I was invited to meet with Niki and James at a villa called Quinta Las Colinas that they had hired for their wedding here in July.  As I wound my way up the picturesque Istan Road from Marbella, I kept wanting to pull over to admire the views over the lakes but I was booked for a meeting and did not have time to stop.

 

As I turned into the track down to the villa and wound my way towards the lake I could see what I hoped might be the villa at the bottom, it looked amazing.  When I arrived there I was shown into the villa through some delightful old wooden doors and immediately fell in love with it´s pretty Andalucian inner courtyard.  I love properties with inner courtyards so was immediately sold!

 

I was then led out to the back garden, having wanted to stop on the way up to admire the views over the lakes, I was rewarded as soon as I stepped outside into the gardens to be greeted with the most stunning views over the majestic, sparkling lakes, a truly breathtaking location.

 

I was hired by Niki and James to help them create their wedding decor and have to say it was such fun styling their wedding day as it just such a breathtaking place to work in, I kept stopping to admire the views all day!  Niki and James had a fantastic wedding day that partied well into the night. 

 

Fiestasol provided the delicious catering and wedding furniture, David Toms captured this wedding, we must get the proper photos to show you, Lizzie Marriage performed a beautiful ceremony, Sweet Things By Fi created a stunning wedding cake and Tristan Harper had the wedding party on their feet, dancing the night away under the stars!

Halloween Party Inspiration in Marbella

I am not quite sure what happened in the past week but we have suddenly gone from summery weddings to spooky Halloween?! 

 

Perhaps it was the onset of rain at the end of September followed closely by the arrival of the 1st October and now everywhere I look there are witches, ghosts, vampires and cobwebs and this is just my rather neglected house!  Well not the witches, etc but certainly the cobwebs :) 

 

I love this time of year, wedding world finally calms down here and it is like the spring, all the suppliers and contractors here peek out their wedding nests where they have been holed up for the best part of six months and start to socialise again, chat about our summer and generally catch up with each other.  I think tweeting would be a good description of this actually without the twitter element it is very similiar as we all connect again!

 

October is an exciting month, for one it is my birthday which I always manage to extend to a 10 day event and of course we have Halloween :) 

 

I love decorating my house for Halloween, well any excuse to be honest to decorate, and am still in love with the glitter pumpkins so I fear I will be hoovering up lots of glitter again this year but would not be without it!

Springtime Blossom Cupcake Decorating Class by Sweet Things By Fi

We are delighted to announce Fi's Springtime Blossom Cupcake Class will be held at our shop on the 24th March and we already have bookings so be quick as there are limited places left.

You will learn how to create stunning accent cupcakes, adorned with handmade sugar roses and fantasy flowers, and you can wow your friends when you create your own cupcakes at home with your newly acquired skills!

Buttercream piping skills will also be taught.

The Springtime Blossom cupcake class, we think, will be Fi's most popular class, as it focuses solely on the decorative side of cupcake making and sugar flower design just in time for your Easter entertaining!

At the end of the class you will be the proud designer and owner of six beautiful vanilla and chocolate cupcakes that can either mirror Fi's designs above or be completely new if you are feeling creative!

The class will last for around 2 ½ hours and refreshments (and cake!) will be provided throughout.

All our classes have had positive feedback so perhaps this is a good excuse for you and your girlfriends to spend an afternoon together!

Glamour at the Chopard Red Carpet Party in Marbella

We are always delighted to work with Carlos and Anne from Lipara Productions who create some stunning events here in Marbella and the Chopard Red Carpet Client Party was no exception. Carlos and Anne had been given the task yet again of transforming the Marbella Club Beach Restaurant into a stunning and glamourous venue with a red carpet theme.

This is where we come in with my fabulous team we were on the beach at 8am, after a few coffees!, ready to start the transformation.

I had met with Carlos beforehand to work out what we were going to do and the technical stuff along with Anne who was organising and designing it and so at 8am in the morning we started to completely cover the beach club with red and black fabrics. Anne had one of my suppliers making up table covers, throws and runners and along with these stunning lights and the flooring team in afterwards the transformation was complete. We are thrilled with the results and the glamour and stars shone again in Marbella!

Suite De Mar Opening Party Photos

Suite Del Mar Opening Party Puente Romano

We don´t do just weddings! We also decorate many of the events in the Marbella calendar and today was no exception as we decorated the staging for the opening party of the Suite del Mar at the beautiful Puente Romano hotel.

It is not often I show work in action as it always looks a bit boring, but I have decided recently to show you more of the behind the scenes and when we get the wow photos of this event I will post these as well, the before, setting up and after!

Here we are decorating all the staging for the opening party tonight with orange fabrics and I got let loose with gold spray paints, you can see my backside in one of these photos fussing over a cocktail table! Tonight though as I type this, this party will be well underway with acrobats dressed in gold lame performing off that very high triangle (rather them than me!), orange lighting, fab music from the DJ and I can imagine a great night! I of course am tucked up here at home with my sunburn and chocolate!

Another great event on Saturday to look forward to with the Butterfly Ball and the Rhys Daniel Trust, again at the Puente Romano Hotel, we are providing the decorations and goody bags for the 4th year running, a fabulous charity and very worth while, so a personal thing for me to do.

Currently the charity golfing challenge for this event is underway hosted by Max Clifford and many other celebrities and culminating in this gala on Saturday night.
