A very merry Wine a bit Wednesday

How I love this season! Christmas lights, Santas ringing bells on every corner, my Elvis Christmas record, baking vegan Christmas cookies, people in the malls fighting over the last oddly realistic doll that pees its pants...

Happy Wine a bit Wednesday
a Very Merry Wine Cocktail
m
I call it the...
Raspberry Sugar Plum Fairy
This will wet your whistle and with enough down the pipe, make you put lamp shades on your head! Remember in the National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Home for the Holidays, or any one of those classic Holiday movies, there is that Aunt, Cousin or Friend who everyone thinks is a bit loopy?
This is your chance to be that person! Enjoy!

m
Ingredients
*Raspberry Sorbet- 2 pints...Make your own by clicking here (its easy and delicious!)
*Lemon Juice-10 cups
*O.J.-2 cups
*Cranberry Juice- 10 cups
*Sugar-5 cups (I use stevia! only use 3 cups)
*Brown Sugar-2 cups (I use splenda brown sugar! use 2 cups)
*Grand Marnier-2 1/2 cups (optional, but it's a nice little kick!...ha, I said "little" kick...)
*Champagne or Sparkling Wine-2 bottles (I used Gloria Ferrer Sonoma Bruit because it is my FAV)

mmm
  Directions
*Soften 1 pint sorbet.
*In a punch bowl, combine softened sherbet, lemon juice, orange juice and sugar.
*Stir to dissolve sugar.
*Add Cranberry Juice,Grand Marnier & Champagne/Sparkling wine.
*When serving, a martini glass works great! Scoop in some sorbet from pint #2, and pour over the cocktail.
*Put lampshade on head.

Let's toast to a very merry holiday season, no matter what religion you follow, belief you have, or holiday you are celebrating! I hope you have someone to snuggle up close to, family to love, and presents to open. Cheers to Family, Friends and.... a good buzz!

Art Shark Designs

Tuesday, December 20, 2011
The story behind Art Shark Designs is that founder and artist Megan Nolton wanted to make a really great Christmas present for her sister. "She had just moved home after living in London for a few years and missed it terribly," says Megan. "So for a Christmas gift, I made her a London print to remind her of her time there.” The red umbrellas were added because Megan thought the prints needed a pop of color and her own engagement took place under an umbrella. "I find the idea of couples enjoying a great city on a rainy day under umbrellas to be quite romantic," Megan adds. The next print she made was of Paris for her husband. She'd recently discovered Etsy and listed a few prints for sale. People really liked them and the editions started selling out. Requests came in and she's been adding to her series ever since.

"I always hope when people see my prints, it brightens their day a tiny bit," says Megan. "I don't think there's anything better than exploring a great city with the person you love."

Whether it’s London or Paris, Alexandria, VA or NYC, we fell madly in love with the City Love prints from Art Shark Designs. We've included images of some of our favorite prints below, but visit the Art Shark Etsy shop to see the entire collection.
