Pressed Cotton ~ Goods for Gatherings

Thursday, February 14, 2013
It's Valentine's Day and naturally, we want to profess our love. We're totally and completely in love with Pressed Cotton, the new online store created by some great friends of ours, and we'd like nothing more than to share it with you.

From the moment we clicked our way to the Pressed Cotton site, we could feel our little hearts fluttering. From paper goods and signage to ring bearer pillows, table runners, a variety of pretty vessels and more, we knew we'd found a gold mine of gorgeous wedding goodness.

Pressed Cottton is the brainchild of Jennifer Rose of Salt Harbor Designs and Millie Holloman of Millie Holloman Photography, who met working on events in Wilmington, NC and have been joining creative forces ever since. Last year they decided to collaborate on Pressed Cotton, an online store containing “goods for gatherings,” and brought in Brent Holloman of Brent Holloman Designs to handle graphic design, branding, and website design.

Pressed Cotton is a source for brides, planners and anyone who loves paper, fabric, texture, color and above all, well-styled events. The creators of Pressed Cotton believe that the atmosphere of an event lies in the details and that an excellent hostess considers details thoughtfully with guests in mind. They also believe that it's cool to think of your home when choosing goods for your wedding and many selections from Pressed Cotton can be beautifully repurposed as exquisite details and accents for your home decor. That being said, Pressed Cotton is a brilliant source for all things wedding, but also a source of creative ideas for your home and we like that. In fact, we've got our eyes on a few items for ourselves. Some of our favorites are the Recipe Card Kit, the cool Blueprint Placemats, the lovely I Promise Pillow Set and the fantastic United States Canvas.

The online store is still new, but there's already more good stuff in the works. The company is working on new projects, including a blog with various uses and ideas for Pressed Cotton products and a line of unique and custom wedding favors. Keep your eyes open and check back often for new additions to Pressed Cotton. You'll find inspiration every time you visit!!

A Southern Bucket

Tuesday, October 30, 2012
What's more Southern than monograms and burlap? That's why we couldn't wait to introduce you to A Southern Bucket, where you'll find a slew of charming Southern accents for your event, complete with personalization.

As mother to two creative little girls, shop owner Suzanne Bowman was inspired to "make beautiful things". She was searching for the perfect baby gift for her best friend's baby shower, when she thought, "What would be more useful than a bucket full of baby things?" It was a great idea, but she thought it might be a little too simple. She added burlap wrapping and her friend's baby's monogram, giving her gift a delightful prettiness.

"I have always been enamored with simple textures like burlap and galvanized metal," explains Suzanne, "so I married the two together and added a beautiful monogram. I now had a meaningful gift ready to fill with baby necessities and hopefully a treasured keepsake for her baby." Suzanne's gift was so well received that it inspired her to create her shop, A Southern Bucket, for brides. "I think every bride looks forward to seeing her new monogram and what better way to use it than for wedding decor, or to receive a charming, practical gift with her new wedding monogram?"

A Southern Bucket offers a full line of personalized burlap accessories for weddings, showers and gifts for the newlywed couple. We've included images of a few of our favorite pieces below, but visit ;A Southern Bucket to pick out your own. From monogrammed buckets to burlap covered candles, table runners, and chair markers, you'll find an array of Southern pretties at A Southern Bucket.

Twenty Pages

Tuesday, July 24, 2012
Naturally, being magazine people anyway, we immediately fell in love with Twenty Pages and we think it's a really cool way to share everything about your wedding with your guests. Twenty Pages designs magazines for weddings. That's right... magazines. These beautiful magazines include (you guessed it) 20 pages of print where you can share fun stuff in an editorial style with beautiful images, including everything from the story of how you met to event and registry details.

Janet and Vincent Merlin got married in 2010 and created a magazine for their guests as a fun way to share a little bit about their story, and of course, the logistics of their big day. Along the way, they discovered that others loved the idea and wanted one for their wedding. Luckily, Vincent’s sister, Elodie, is a graphic designer and Twenty Pages was born.

Each couple's magazine is created uniquely for them and it's a fantastic way to connect with your friends and family, whether you're having a destination wedding, backyard nuptials or a black tie affair. The magazines work great as guest favors, but they can be used in so many different ways. You can use them as wedding programs, they can be sent along with your invitations or save the dates, you can include them in welcome or gift bags and so much more! For more information and pricing, visit the Twenty Pages website or send an email to hello@twentypages.com.
